Animal Bites

If you have been involved in an animal bite or scratch and it has bled, it is recommended that you do the following:

The area needs to be washed with soap and water.

You need to be sure that you have a current tetanus shot.

If the bite is severe, see a physician.

Report the bite:
Make every attempt to find the owner of the animal or at least keep the animal in sight to assist the animal control officer who will do the investigating.
