following complaints:
According to Harris County Animal Regulations, all dogs and cats must be confined at all times without access to streets or sidewalks. The sale of live animals in parking lots and along the side of the road is prohibited, see Harris County Animal Regulations for more information. If you live inside of the City of Houston limits call (713) 699-1113 If you live inside the unincorporated areas of Harris County but outside of the City of Houston call (713) 755-5000 and ask for road maintenance. Injured dogs and cats should be approached with caution. Often a hurt animal will respond the only way it knows how...by biting. Contact our office as soon as possible. To be safe, delay assisting the animal until an animal control officer arrives. HCPHES Veterinary Public Health does not respond to indigenous wildlife calls for alligators, foxes, snakes or coyotes. However, if skunks or bats are sick, injured or acting strangely and are on school grounds or near day care centers, HCPHES Veterinary Public Health will respond to these calls.
