Harris
County Public Health & Environmental Services (HCPHES) is
proud to recognize the first World Rabies Day, September 8,
2007. The mission of World Rabies Day is to raise awareness
about the impact of human and animal rabies, how easy it is
to prevent, and how to eliminate the main global
sources. Rabies in humans is preventable and can be
eliminated through ensuring adequate animal vaccination and
control, educating those at risk, and enhancing access of
those bitten to prompt appropriate medical care.
This
toolkit is aimed at assisting veterinarians (United
States) in promoting World Rabies Day and discussing
the importance of rabies prevention with their
clients.
