The
Environmental Equity Project is an HCPHES community dialogue
and assessment initiative coordinated by the Office of Policy
and Planning.
The Project explores environmental factors as a root cause
of certain acute and chronic health disparities and engages
a diverse community in a comprehensive, culturally
appropriate dialogue process to determine perceptions
regarding the environment, the environment’s impact on
health, prioritization of community environmental needs, and
capacity building.
The Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in
Environmental Health (PACE-EH) tool, developed by the
National Association for County and City Health Officials (NACCHO),
is used to facilitate the Project community dialogue
process.
