Biostatistics
The Biostatistics Section works with various
programs and divisions within Harris County Public Health and
Environmental Services to provide reliable health related data, in a
timely manner, to promote health and quality of life among Harris
County residents. The activities of the Biostatistics Section help
to identify health trends and problems, assist in program planning
and evaluation and guide health related policy development.
Activities include:

Maintaining vital and health statistics
data bases

Ensuring accurate clinic and program client
data collection

Providing assistance in updating and
troubleshooting electronic record systems

Providing technical assistance throughout
the organization in the collection, management, tabulation and
dissemination of health related data

Providing statistical analysis of reliable
data.
