Pushcarts With no Food Preparation

All pushcarts must meet the requirements for the roadside food unit as well as the following specifications designed just for pushcarts.

Construction Of Pushcart

  • The pushcart shall not exceed four feet in width, eight feet in length, and eight feet in height, including the pushcart's shade umbrella.
  • In the event of an emergency, the pushcart must be easily moveable, controllable, and maneuverable by one person when the pushcart is fully loaded. The bottom of the pushcart shall be at least one foot from the ground.
  • The pushcart shall be non-motorized.

Equipment

  • Each pushcart shall have as litter receptacle attached to the unit, available, clearly marked, and maintained for patron use. The litter receptacle shall not have less than a twenty-gallon capacity and shall be composed of leak-proof, non-absorbent materials..
  • All equipment must be permanently installed on the pushcart. No equipment such as tables shall be used with the carts unless they are part of the cart itself.

Location Of Pushcart

  • All pushcart operators must have written permission from the owners of the property where they wish to operate.

Toilet facilities

  • All pushcarts must be located within 500 feet of restroom facilities. Written permission for access to the facility must be obtained and provided to the health department.
