Food Handler Training

Food establishments are strongly encouraged to provide training in food safety and sanitation to all employees who handle food and/or drinks.   Having a staff trained in proper food handling, hand washing, and sanitation procedures is a sign of the establishment’s commitment to insuring that every effort is made to provide safe and sanitary food to the consumer.   Establishments may provide their own in-house training program or request a free, two-hour onsite training program conducted by Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services.

For more information or to schedule a food handler training program, please call Environmental Public Health at (713) 439-6270.
