DCME staff members receive and investigate reports of diseases and injuries, provide medical care to patients with tuberculosis, help refugees from war-torn countries start healthy lives here, educate people on how to reduce their risk of getting infected with HIV and other sexually-transmitted diseases, and perform many other tasks to help the residents of Harris County remain healthy.
