WIC Program

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women,
Infants, and Children. This is a federally-funded program
administered through the Texas Department of State Health Services.
HCPHES, with 13 WIC centers, is one of three agencies in Harris
County that operates the program.
WIC serves to
safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up
to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods
to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, breastfeeding
information and support, and referrals to health care.
