How do I qualify for WIC services?

Must meet income guidelines. (see below) Households with incomes up to 185% of the federal poverty line are eligible.

Must be at nutritional risk. WIC clients receive an initial health screening at a WIC center to determine nutritional risk.

Must be a resident of Texas. WIC clients usually receive services in the county where they reside. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement for eligibility.

Must be in one of the following categories:
  • Pregnant Women
  • Postpartum Women
  • Breastfeeding Women
  • Infants
  • Children Younger than 5
