Immunization Outreach Mobile Team

Jump to Immunization Outreach Schedule

In 2003, The Harris County PHES Immunization Outreach Mobile Program was created in order to increase the immunization coverage rate among children aged 0-35 months within Harris County, excluding the City of Houston.  According to the recent Harris County Retrospective Immunization Survey, only 64% of the children enrolled in kindergarten were appropriately immunized at two years of age.  It is estimated that more than 28,000 children living in Harris County are under immunized.

The HCPHES Immunization Outreach Mobile Team (IOMT) strives to ensure that immunization services are available to children in low to moderate income areas.  The IOMT primarily provides immunizations for children 0-18 years old.  The goal is to increase the childhood immunization coverage rate in Harris County.

In order for a child to receive immunizations from the Immunization Mobile Team, an adult must be present and provide all immunization records for the child.  There are no fees associated with immunizations given by the IOMT.

Requests for scheduled services must be received at least a month before the event, and a minimum of 2 months notice is required for requests of immunization support during June, July, and August.

Request for IOMT assistance may be emailed, faxed, or phoned to:
