The Healthy Places /
Healthy Environment Program is involved in a variety of
activities and programs all designed to improve the
health of the residents of Harris County. These
programs focus around the environment, be it in the
home, within parks, open green spaces, or even on the
streets. The following are some of the activities
currently being conducted within the Healthy Places /
Healthy Environment Program:
Built Environment
– Reduceing health disparities by employing a strategic
approach to bring the built environment into public
health.
Healthy Homes Initiative
– Promoting community-wide education and awareness of
multiple housing conditions responsible for disease and
injury, especially to children and seniors.
